A thoughtful RPG set in a bleak landscape. The storyline, characters and soundtrack are all exceedingly atmospheric.. ♥♥♥♥ you old man. This♥♥♥♥♥♥broke me so goddamn hard I cried every night for 4 straight days. Coming from a person who never cries at anything.nice soundtrack10/10 storyjoy mutant designs are really goodyou'RE TEarING mE AParT LIsa!!!!!!!!!!overall 10/10 would cry again. poured gasoline on children and killed ronald mcdonald 10/10. What a great game honestly. Lisa is an RPG that is heavily inspired by the Mother series, but takes a much more somber turn and becomes its own original thing. As such, the combat system is somewhat similar to the one of the Mother series for comparison, but also features a few more differences, even though it is nothing too impressive. The soundtrack is also reminiscent of Mother, being weird and wacky when fighting weak enemies, foreboding when you are fighting tougher enemies, and overall very fitting for the more serious moments. But the biggest appeal of this game lies within the story and the characters. They are very complex and well developed. The game also gives you some lore every now and then, in the form of cutscenes that are flashbacks from the protagonist's past. The best thing you can do with this game is to not read anything about it and buy it if you enjoy story-driven turn-based RPGs of this kind and... are not feeling clinically depressed. The game does have its funny moments (sometimes they are random, other times they are bitter-sweet), but it is quite saddening. It is a shame it has not been officially translated into other languages, however, I believe there are fan translations out there so it's not too bad.Not a perfect game by any means (the sprite work is at first glance very ugly and can turn people away, even though you will later appreciate how its ugliness sets the mood better), but you will miss out if you don't play this hidden gem, it is truly an experience to be had.. I've got the depression, depression, depression, d o w n i n m y h e a r t. '- A life ruining gaming experience.' Ok.. This is a great game. It makes you question the just of your cause, and do things only a man of extreme grief would do.ProsAmazing story, one of the best in a video game I have seen so farTeam system was entertaining, things like getting new partnersThe graphics are detailed, even if in a low bit rate. The looks are extremely well polished. The characters are hilarious, mysterious, and just entertaining. The difficulty had me dying at least once every major boss fight, making me actually have to think about my moves, not to say the boss fights are unfair, just difficult-ish.There is NO grinding, absolutely none. This is something that I admire from every RPG, when I don't have to sit in areas and just farm for exp or anything. That problems is not here. The ending hit me like a god damn truck man, truly a ♥♥♥♥ing masterpiece ending.ConsEach area design can be very confusing, not knowing how to progress sometimes. Some team members just feel useless, and some can just never be used if you have 3 others to fill the gap.ConclusionAn amazing game all around, one where I can look around the few flaws to see a much greater product. And it's only $10. if you haven't given LISA's story a shot, what are you even doing.
